Hello! I'm Teacher Dona!
Welcome to Garfield Preschool!
What some parents might want to know:
I'm from Virginia. I earned my BS in Speech Language Pathology from James Madison University in VA and then my MA in Counseling (with a specialty in Deafness) from Gallaudet University in DC. I worked as a counselor with disabled adults before pursuing my teaching credentials. Since then, I have worked in birth to 5 programs. This is my 12th year with Garfield preschool. I have 3 grown children, one daughter-in-law, and 2 grandchildren (ages 3 and 1).
What some children might want to know:
- My favorite color changes frequently, but dark purple or emerald green are frequently at the top.
- I love dancing (ballroom, ballet, tap, jazz, just to name a few) and music.
- I enjoy all kinds of exercise and love to keep my class moving.
- I love being in nature and caring for it, especially in my garden. I have a dream to create a secret garden for kids.
- I love messy art and play dough.
- I'm not particularly fond of computers.
- Dinosaurs and puppies rock!
